Textile & footwear materials: Vietnam exports slightly down 2.29 percent in April, Cambodia top destination

Vietnam’s exports of textile & footwear materials reached US$204.11 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight decrease of 2.29 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$762.81 million.

Cambodia remains the top export market despite a slight decrease:

Cambodia was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$36.07 million. This marks a slight decrease of 5.13 percent from March but still accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 18.09 percent.

Indonesia sees moderate growth to become the second-largest market:

Indonesia was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$34.55 million, an increase of 14.35 percent from the previous month. Indonesia accounts for 16.73 percent of the year-to-date exports.

China sees a moderate decrease but remains a key market:

China was the third-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$21.30 million, a decrease of 14.08 percent from March. China accounts for 10.13 percent of the year-to-date exports.

USA records substantial growth:

Exports to the USA surged by 22.97 percent in April, reaching US$17.69 million. USA accounts for 7.94 percent of the year-to-date exports.

India records moderate growth:

Exports to India experienced an increase of 10.01 percent in April, reaching US$16.53 million. India accounts for 6.80 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:

Chile experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 29.40 percent, followed by Bangladesh and Indonesia. Conversely, Sweden experienced the most significant decrease at 86.93 percent, followed by Argentina and Austria.
