Vietnam’s electronics industry

Vietnam’s electronics industry has become one of the country’s largest export sectors, driven by foreign direct investment from global manufacturers producing smartphones, computers, and consumer electronics.

Major multinational firms such as Samsung, LG, Intel, and Foxconn operate large production bases in Vietnam, integrating the country into regional and global supply chains.

Electronics and electrical products consistently account for a substantial share of Vietnam’s exports, with computers, components, and phones among the country’s top export categories.

The sector remains heavily reliant on imported components and foreign-invested manufacturers, though the government is promoting domestic suppliers and higher-value production.
