Stock market: VN-Index climbs as financials lead gains Friday, July 18

The VN-Index rose 7.27 points to close at 1,497.28 on July 18, up 0.49 percent, as strong performance in financial stocks offset losses in real estate and IT shares, according to data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchangeview source.

Total trading value on HOSE reached VND 36.12 trillion or approximately US$1.39 billion.

Foreign investors net sold to the value of VND 98 billion (about US$3.77 million).

Key index performance:

  • VN30 rose 9.21 points (+0.56%) to 1,643.91
  • VNMIDCAP gained 14.51 points (+0.67%)
  • VNFIN surged 1.56%, led by VNFINLEAD (+1.98%) and VNFINSELECT (+1.56%)
  • VNIT fell 0.58%, while VNREAL dropped 0.35%

  • VPB (49 million)
  • NVL, CII also active
