Vietnam’s imports of petroleum products reached US$577.95 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight increase of 3.69 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) import value of US$2.23 billion.
Singapore sees a significant increase to become the top supplier:
Singapore emerged as the leading supplier of petroleum products to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$324.46 million. This marks a substantial increase of 58.60 percent from March and accounts for a dominant 45.17 percent of the total year-to-date imports.
South Korea experiences a significant decrease but remains a major supplier:
South Korea was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$95.32 million, a decrease of 34.06 percent from the previous month. South Korea accounts for 24.53 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Malaysia sees a marginal increase:
Imports from Malaysia experienced a slight increase of 1.75 percent in April, reaching US$64.25 million. Malaysia accounts for 10.31 percent of the year-to-date imports.
China records a significant decrease:
Imports from China saw a substantial decrease of 38.79 percent in April, falling to US$63.52 million. China accounts for 14.89 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Thailand experiences a sharp decrease:
Imports from Thailand saw the most significant decrease at 54.16 percent in April, with a value of US$7.74 million.
