Vietnam’s imports of paper products reached US$107.64 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight increase of 2.71 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) import value of US$363.53 million.
China is the overwhelming leader in paper product imports:
China was the dominant supplier of paper products to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$82.49 million. This marks an increase of 6.09 percent from March and accounts for a commanding 73.34 percent of the total year-to-date imports.
Thailand remains a significant supplier despite a decrease:
Thailand was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$5.95 million, a decrease of 6.03 percent from the previous month. Thailand accounts for 5.95 percent of the year-to-date imports.
South Korea sees a moderate increase:
Imports from South Korea experienced an increase of 7.20 percent in April, reaching US$4.29 million. South Korea accounts for 4.63 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Indonesia records an increase:
Imports from Indonesia rose by 13.50 percent in April, reaching US$3.98 million, contributing 3.20 percent to the year-to-date total.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Germany experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 57.50 percent, although its overall import value is lower. Singapore also saw a substantial rise. Conversely, Hong Kong experienced the most significant decrease at 32.11 percent, followed by Taiwan at 28.19 percent.
