Italian tourist arrivals in Vietnam increase in January

Vietnam welcomed 11,490 tourists from Italy in January, accounting for 0.6 percent of total international arrivals, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This marks a 39.8 percent increase from December and a 21.8 percent rise year-on-year.

Tourism between Italy and Vietnam has been steadily increasing, fueled by growing bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and cultural exchanges between the two countries. As both nations continue to strengthen ties in trade, education, and tourism, more travelers from Italy are visiting Vietnam, and vice versa, creating a positive cycle of mutual interest and exploration.

For Italian tourists, Vietnam offers a wide variety of attractions, including the bustling cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the natural beauty of Ha Long Bay and the Mekong Delta, and the rich historical and cultural heritage found in ancient towns like Hoi An and Hue. Vietnam’s affordability, welcoming atmosphere, delicious cuisine, and unique landscapes make it an attractive destination for Italian travelers seeking a mix of cultural exploration, adventure, and relaxation. Additionally, the convenience of direct flight routes from Italy to Vietnam, as well as the increasing number of tour operators offering tailored travel experiences, has made Vietnam more accessible to Italian tourists.

On the other hand, Vietnam is also becoming an increasingly popular destination for Vietnamese tourists. Italy, known for its rich history, art, and culture, draws a growing number of Vietnamese travelers seeking to explore cities like Rome, Venice, Florence, and Milan, as well as Italy’s famous landmarks, such as the Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the canals of Venice. Italy’s world-renowned cuisine, art, architecture, and shopping opportunities attract many Vietnamese visitors, particularly those interested in cultural and culinary tourism.

The tourism relationship between the two countries is supported by improved air connectivity, visa facilitation, and collaborative tourism promotion efforts by both governments. With the growing interest in exploring each other’s culture, history, and landscapes, tourism between Italy and Vietnam is expected to continue expanding, enhancing bilateral ties and contributing to the development of both countries’ tourism industries.
