Food processing: Vietnam’s processed seafood output rises in July, strong year-to-date growth

Vietnam produced an estimated 633,100 tonnes of processed seafood in July 2025, up from 624,800 tonnes in June, according to Vietnam’s National Office of Statistics.

Cumulative output for the first seven months of 2025 reached 3.97 million tonnes, representing a 7.7 percent increase year-on-year.

July alone recorded a 9.2 percent rise compared with the same month last year.

The figures underscore continued expansion in Vietnam’s seafood processing sector, which is supported by strong overseas demand and investment in processing technology.

Key export markets such as the US, EU, and Japan remain drivers of growth despite global trade challenges.

Processed seafood plays a vital role in Vietnam’s export structure and rural employment, making the sector a cornerstone of the country’s agri-food industry.

The July data reinforces its position as one of Vietnam’s most competitive export industries.
