Energy: Vietnam’s July LPG output edges up, strong growth in 7-month total

Vietnam produced an estimated 68,900 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in July 2025, slightly higher than 64,900 tonnes in June, according to Vietnam’s National Office of Statistics.

Cumulative output for the first seven months of 2025 stood at 488,400 tonnes, up 11.4 percent compared with the same period last year.

July, however, recorded a year-on-year decline of 7 percent.

The data highlights stable monthly production combined with robust growth over the longer period.

Rising consumption in households, transportation, and industry is driving LPG demand, while domestic production plays an increasingly important role in balancing imports.

Vietnam’s energy sector continues to diversify, with LPG emerging as a key transitional fuel amid efforts to reduce coal reliance and expand renewable capacity.
