Vietnam’s drinks and tobacco consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.12 percent in September 2025 from the previous month, driven by higher consumer demand during the summer and the Vu Lan Festival, alongside increased production costs, according to the National Statistics Office.
Overall, the drinks and tobacco group CPI stood at 2.35 percent in September, up from 2.25 percent in August, reflecting stable but firm price growth throughout 2025.
Within the category, fruit juice prices increased 0.43 percent, bottled, canned and boxed energy drinks rose 0.29 percent, and alcohol in Vietnam of all kinds gained 0.20 percent.
Mineral water prices were up 0.14 percent, cigarettes rose 0.10 percent, and beer of all kinds increased 0.08 percent.
