Vietnam’s milk powder production saw modest growth in April 2025, with an estimated output of 13.2 thousand tons, marking a 3.4 percent increase year-on-year, according to official estimates. This follows preliminary production of 12.2 thousand tons in March 2025.
Cumulative production for the first four months of the year reached 46.8 thousand tons, up 0.7 percent compared to the same period in 2024, suggesting a stable but restrained pace of growth in domestic milk powder processing.
Milk powder remains a critical component of Vietnam’s dairy supply chain, particularly for reconstitution into liquid milk and use in infant formula and other dairy products. While the country continues to invest in domestic production capacity, the bulk of milk powder consumed in Vietnam is still sourced through imports from key partners such as New Zealand, Australia, and the US.
