Automotive: Vietnam produces 43,200 cars in June 2025, up from 37,600 in May

Vietnam produced 43,200 cars in June 2025, up from 37,600 in May, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office.

This brings total car production in the first six months of the year to 226,500 units.

Compared to the same period last year, June car production rose by 70.2 percent.

The year-on-year increase for the first half of 2025 was also 70.2 percent.

Vietnam’s car industry has grown steadily in recent years, supported by increasing consumer demand, infrastructure development, and participation from both domestic and foreign manufacturers.

The market includes local companies such as VinFast, along with international joint ventures assembling vehicles within the country. Government policies have aimed to encourage local production and develop supporting industries.

While the sector remains smaller than those in neighbouring countries, it continues to expand in both output and complexity.
