Vietnam exported US$566.40 million worth of goods to the Philippines in August, a 22.2 percent rise from US$463.38 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports reached US$3.94 billion.
Rice led the surge with US$237.69 million, up 52.1 percent from July, making up 36.4 percent of total exports.
Transport equipment recorded the sharpest growth, rising 244.6 percent month-on-month to US$44.65 million.
Machinery contributed US$34.59 million, while mobile phones rose nearly 40 percent to US$29.25 million.
Computers and electronics stood at US$19.59 million, and clinker and cement exports reached US$17.45 million.
Iron and steel products were valued at US$13.63 million, while footwear brought in US$11.19 million.
Textiles and garments reached US$11.03 million, and coffee, despite a 44.3 percent drop, still contributed US$8.26 million.
