Total production for the first nine months of the year stood at 1.11 million tons, reflecting stable year-on-year growth.

Of note, Vietnam’s aluminium industry has expanded rapidly over the past decade, driven by rising demand from construction, transportation, and electronics manufacturing.

The country’s production base includes both refined aluminium and fabricated products such as sheets, bars, and extrusions, supported by growing investment in processing facilities.

Domestic consumption has increased alongside exports, particularly to markets in Asia and Europe.

However, the industry faces challenges from high energy costs, limited domestic bauxite refining capacity, and competition from imported aluminium products.

Government plans under the national industrial strategy aim to modernise smelting technology, improve efficiency, and strengthen Vietnam’s position in the regional aluminium supply chain.
