African tourist arrivals in Vietnam rise by 3.06 percent in November

Vietnam welcomed 4,146 visitors from Africa in November, a month-on-month increase of 123 tourists or 3.06 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.

Year-to-date, African arrivals reached 47,015, reflecting a significant 33.7 percent growth compared to the same period last year. The growth highlights Vietnam’s growing appeal to travellers from the African continent, supported by increasing connectivity and targeted tourism promotion.

African tourists often visit major urban centres such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, known for their vibrant culture and historical landmarks. Coastal areas like Nha Trang and Danang are also popular, offering leisure and beach experiences for long-haul visitors.

Vietnam Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines are key carriers connecting Africa and Vietnam, with routes through regional hubs like Addis Ababa and Dubai providing convenient travel options. The availability of connecting flights has played a vital role in facilitating increased arrivals from Africa.

The steady rise in African tourist numbers reflects Vietnam’s appeal as a destination offering a rich cultural heritage and diverse travel experiences, contributing to its overall tourism recovery.
