Currency: Vietnam black market US$ price jumps .52 percent, Wednesday
The black market US dollar price in Vietnam rose sharply against the dong Wednesday, with the mid-market climbing from VND 26,685 on 29 August to VND 26,825 on 3 September, widening the gap with Google’s mid-market rate to 1.67 percent.
Stock market: Foreign traders post US$110.9 million net exit on Vietnam exchange, Wednesday
Foreign investors net sold stocks on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock exchange to the tune of VND 2,882 billion or US$110.9 million, bringing the total net-sold by foreigners over the last five trading sessions to more than US$465 million worth of stocks.
Automotive: Vietnam motorbike production rises in July, steady year-to-date growth
Vietnam’s motorbike production increased to 312.2 thousand units in July 2025, up from 297.9 thousand in June. Output grew 0.9 percent year-on-year in July and 5.3 percent over the first seven months, reaching 1.88 million units, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Statistics Office.
Manufacturing: Vietnam phone accessories production dips in July but stays ahead year-to-date
Vietnam’s phone accessories production was valued at VND 53.8 trillion or US$2.07 billion in July 2025, down from VND 58.4 trillion or US$2.25 billion in June, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Statistics Office.
Electronics: Vietnam TV production rises in July with strong year-to-date growth
Vietnam’s TV production climbed to 1.89 million units in July 2025, up from 1.80 million units in June. Output increased 28.5 percent year-on-year for July and 21.1 percent over the first seven months, reaching 11.47 million units in total, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Statistics Office.
Automotive: Vietnam car production slips in July but surges year-to-date
Vietnam produced 38.8 thousand cars in July 2025, down from 40.9 thousand in June. Despite the month-on-month decline, output jumped 44.1 percent year-on-year in July and 64.4 percent in the first seven months, totalling 263 thousand units, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Statistics Office.
Manufacturing: Vietnam PMI slows in August on weaker new orders
The S&P Global Vietnam Manufacturing PMI eased to 50.4 in August, down from 52.4 in July, signalling only marginal improvement in business conditions.
