Bloomberg is reporting that a statement on the government’s website on Saturday said that 6 percent growth this year was the best Vietnam could hope for, but it was unlikely to be less than 5 percent. In the first nine months of the year, Vietnam recorded growth of 4.24 percent, well below the target of 6.5 percent set at the beginning of the year.
Of note: Vietnam has recorded steady increases in its GDP growth this year but well below what would be needed to reach 6.5 percent for the year.
