Vietnam launches antidumping investigation into wind turbine towers from China

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has launched an investigation into wind turbine towers imported from China at the request of CS Wind Vietnam, a subsidiary of South Korea’s CS Wind, The Leader is reporting.

Why it matters: This goes to the changing nature of trade with Vietnam, specifically the more assertive approach Vietnam appears to be taking with respect to antidumping investigations. This is in many ways necessary in that a growing number of investigations have been launched against Vietnam in the EU and US–if Vietnam is going to be forced to play by the rules then it is going to force its trade partners to play by the rules too, as it should.
