Vietnam’s housing supply reached just seven percent of its pre pandemic levels in 2024, according to report from the Vietnam Association of Realtors. Note that official Ministry of Construction data will be released around the middle of next month.
Of note, Nha Dau Tu has highlighted that 62 percent of the new housing supply in 2024 came from five big developers, namely Vinhomes, CapitaLand, Masterise, MIK, and Sungroup. Notably absent from the list is Novaland which had at one time reportedly been Vietnam’s second biggest developer.
The Leader, on the other hand, has put an emphasis on the increase in selling prices with prices in Hanoi up 72.9 percent over the second quarter of 2019, and 49.9 percent in Danang and 34.3 percent in Ho Chi Minh City over the same period.
