Vietnam imported fertiliser to the tune of US$152 million in April, up from US$148 million in March, a change of 2.79 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam imported US$454 million worth of fertiliser by the end of April.
China was Vietnam’s largest fertiliser supplier in April, shipping US$64 million worth of fertiliser, down 5.48 percent from US$68 million in March. Year to date, China exported US$207 million worth of fertiliser to Vietnam.
Next was Russia with US$39 million worth of fertiliser exports to Vietnam in April, up 189.08 percent from US$13 million in March. Year to date, Russia shipped US$77 million worth of fertiliser to Vietnam.
Laos followed with US$13 million worth of fertiliser exports in April, down 12.73 percent from US$15 million in March. Year to date, Laos exported US$39 million worth of fertiliser to Vietnam.
After Laos was South Korea, which supplied US$8 million worth of fertiliser in April, up 139.26 percent from US$3 million in March. Year to date, South Korea shipped US$16 million worth of fertiliser to Vietnam.
Rounding out the top five was Norway with US$6 million worth of fertiliser exports to Vietnam in April, up 208.02 percent from March. Year to date, Norway exported US$12 million worth of fertiliser to Vietnam.
