Electronic products, computers, and optical products saw an 8.6 percent increase from August, and a year-over-year rise of 6.8 percent compared to September 2023, according to Vietnam’s Industrial production Index. Year-to-date, the sector has grown by 9.1 percent over the first nine months of 2024, underscoring a consistent expansion of this crucial industry.
Electronic components manufacturing, specifically, experienced a 2.7 percent month-on-month increase and a significant 12.4 percent jump year-over-year, with a robust 10.5 percent growth year-to-date.
Similarly, communication equipment manufacturing also saw a substantial gain, with a 12.4 percent monthly increase and a 5.2 percent rise compared to September last year, achieving 8.6 percent growth for the year-to-date.
However, consumer electronics products presented a mixed picture. While this category saw a 4.7 percent decline in September compared to August, it still achieved a 10 percent year-over-year increase and a 10.4 percent rise for the year-to-date, reflecting overall growth despite recent fluctuations.
