Vietnam education ministry looks for support tackling corruption in textbooks

Vietnam’s Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has gone to the National Assembly looking for support cracking down on corrupt bidding practices in the textbook space, Dan Tri is reporting.

“We hope that delegates will point out which groups are pursuing illegal interests and where these groups are so that we can coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and the Procuracy to arrest and take them away,” he said.

This stems from reports back in September that the head of Vietnam’s Education Publishing House which handles the production and distribution of textbooks was taking kickback from paper suppliers.
