ToggleTotal car sales in Vietnam reached 33,689 units in November compared to 31,844 units in October, an increase of 5.79 percent, according to data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA).
(Note that these are sales for VAMA members only and that some other major car makers are not included. Vietnam’s VinFast for example.)
Year-to-date, the VAMA has recorded 268,576 car sales. This is compared to 270,658 units over the same period in 2024, a change of about 1 percent.
Passenger car sales in Vietnam reached 24,604 units in November compared to 22,668 units in October. Year-to-date, the VAMA has recorded 199,838 passenger car sales. This is compared to 186,522 units over the same period in 2024.
Truck sales in Vietnam reached 7,071 units in November compared to 7,096 units in October. Year-to-date, the VAMA has recorded 52,106 Truck sales. This is compared to 62,792 units over the same period in 2024.
Bus sales in Vietnam reached 612 units in November compared to 654 units in October. Year-to-date, the VAMA has recorded 7,299 Bus sales. This is compared to 8,112 units over the same period in 2024.
Special-purpose vehicle sales in Vietnam reached 62 units in November compared to 21 units in October. Year-to-date, the VAMA has recorded 946 special-purpose vehicle sales. This is compared to 689 units over the same period in 2024.
Hybrid vehicle sales in Vietnam reached 1,340 units in November compared to 1,397 units in October. Year-to-date, the VAMA has recorded 8,387 hybrid vehicle sales. This is compared to 12,522 units over the same period in 2024.

Vietnam motor vehicle imports
Vietnam imported motor vehicles to the tune of US$456 million in November, up from US$431 million in October, a change of 5.75 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$4,327 million worth of motor vehicles by the end of November.

Hang Xanh Motors Service JSC (HAX) is an authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer offering car sales, maintenance, and repair services.
HAX closed at VND 10,650 on Wednesday down 0.05 percent with 1,406,000 shares traded, worth VND 1,504 million.
Foreign ownership in HAX is currently capped at 50.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 6.6 percent.
Vietnam Sun Corporation
Vietnam Sun Corporation (VNS) operates taxi transport and car rental services under the Vinasun brand.
VNS closed at VND 9,240 on Wednesday up 0.02 percent with 45,000 shares traded, worth VND 41 million.
Foreign ownership in VNS is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 2.5 percent.
Vingroup JSC
Vingroup JSC (VIC) is Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, operating in real estate, automotive (VinFast), healthcare, and education.
VIC closed at VND 146,000 on Thursday down 2.8 percent with 79,576,000 shares traded, worth VND 1,132,756 million.
Foreign ownership in VIC is currently capped at 48.4 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 3.7 percent.

Xanh GSM 23 percent VinFast sales
VinFast’s sales to ride-hailing operator Xanh SM fell to 23 percent of deliveries in the first nine months of 2025, down from 72 percent in 2023.

Honda Mobilityland Corporation has floated plans to build a 600-hectare sports, entertainment, and tourism complex in Tay Ninh.
The company presented the proposal to Tay Ninh officials during a meeting in Tokyo on 18 November.
The complex would include an international racing circuit and year-round events such as car and motorcycle racing, drifting, e-sports, music festivals, and technology exhibitions.
