Vietnam car sales up 100.13 percent MoM in March 2026 / 20% YoY

Total car sales in Vietnam reached 31,351 units in March 2026, up from 15,665 in February, according to the latest data from the Vientam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA).

Year to date, VAMA recorded 76,790 units, compared to 58,936 in 2025.

Passenger car sales reached 19,867 units in March, up from 10,177 in February. Year to date, VAMA recorded 52,484 units, compared to 40,582 in 2025.

Truck sales reached 7,629 units in March, up from 4,053 in February. Year to date, VAMA recorded 17,488 units, compared to 13,400 in 2025.

Bus sales reached 711 units in March, up from 314 in February. Year to date, VAMA recorded 1,690 units, compared to 2,045 in 2025.

Special-purpose vehicle sales held at 1 unit in March and February. Year to date, VAMA recorded 2 units, compared to 347 in 2025.

Battery electric vehicle sales were unchanged at 1 unit in March and February. Year to date, VAMA recorded 1 unit, with no comparable 2025 data.

Hybrid sales reached 3,143 units in March, up from 1,119 in February. Year to date, VAMA recorded 5,125 units, compared to 2,562 in 2025.

Ford + Tasco Auto MoU EV charging infrastructure

Ford Vietnam and Tasco Auto have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop and share electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Parking space sale dispute HCMC

A dispute has emerged at the CityLand Park Hills apartment complex in Ho Chi Minh City after the developer, CityLand, proposed selling the building’s car parking spaces for 400–500 million VND (about US$15,200–19,000) per slot.

CityLand stated the pricing is only preliminary and not mandatory, with residents free to continue renting parking for around 1.5 million VND (about US$57) per month. Read more→
