Trade: Vietnam rubber imports fall 7.1 percent in August

Vietnam imported US$254.71 million of rubber in August, down 7.07 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year-to-date imports totalled US$1.95 billion.

Cambodia was the largest supplier with US$95.69 million, accounting for nearly 31 percent of YTD imports, followed by China at US$40.01 million and South Korea at US$23.73 million.

Other key sources included Thailand, Laos, and Japan, while Russia posted a sharp month-on-month surge.

The figures highlight Cambodia’s leading role in Vietnam’s rubber imports, while volatility remains evident in flows from secondary suppliers such as Russia and Thailand.
