Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, Starlink, is currently on show in Hanoi at the Vietnam International Innovation Expo 2023, VN Express is reporting. This is on the back of SpaceX representatives making overtures to the government last month with respect to making the service accessible in Vietnam.
Point of note: Starlink would give Vietnamese internet users a way around Vietnam’s strict internet censorship, that or Starlink would need to censor content on the government’s behalf and it’s not clear how the company would reconcile this with it’s billionaire founder’s values. With this in mind, it will be interesting to see how Starlink pursues entry into the Vietnamese market.
