LG Group is to undergo a significant expansion of its investment in Vietnam, increasing the capital for its project in the Trang Due Industrial Park by US$1 billion, according to an announcement from the Hai Phong City People’s Committee.
This adjustment brings the total investment in the high-tech OLED screen manufacturing facility to US$5.65 billion, making it one of LG’s largest projects in the country.
Initially launched in 2016 with an investment of US$1.5 billion, the project specialises in producing advanced OLED screens with a capacity of 14 million units per month. Over the past eight years, it has undergone consistent growth, enhancing production capabilities and creating over 22,000 jobs.
The facility has significantly contributed to Vietnam’s economy, achieving average annual exports of US$5.8 billion and contributing approximately VND 1,000 billion annually to the state budget. This expansion underlines LG’s long-term commitment to Vietnam as a key hub for its high-tech manufacturing operations.
