Indian conglomerate Adani is reportedly looking to sink US$2 billion in to the Lien Chieu seaport project in Vietnam. Other media reports have also said it intends to invest in two airports in Vietnam and a thermal power project worth US$2.8 billion. This announcement comes on the back of a visit to India by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
This is in line with a series of meetings over the last few years between the firm and key Vietnamese officials.
Of note, however, Adani is currently invested in just two projects in Vietnam, a wind power plant and a solar power plant the latter of which has run into problems with poor infrastructure forcing the plant to curb power production back in 2022.
