The International Monetary Fund, in its October World Economic Outlook, has raised its growth forecast for Vietnam for this year to 6.1 percent up from 5.8 percent in its April report. It has, however, lowered its forecast for next year from 6.5 to 6.1 percent.
Also of note:
- Singapore: The GDP forecast for 2024 increased by 0.5 percent from 2.1 to 2.6, and for 2025, it rose slightly by 0.2 percent from 2.3 to 2.5.
- Indonesia: No change in the GDP forecast for either year, remaining at 5.0 percent for both 2024 and 2025.
- Thailand: The GDP forecast for 2024 saw a minor increase of 0.1 percent from 2.7 to 2.8, and the 2025 forecast also increased by 0.1 percent from 2.9 to 3.0.
- Malaysia: The 2024 forecast increased by 0.4 percent from 4.4 to 4.8, with no change for 2025, staying at 4.4 percent.
- Philippines: The 2024 forecast dropped by 0.4 percent from 6.2 to 5.8, while the 2025 forecast decreased slightly by 0.1 percent from 6.2 to 6.1.
