Food & beverage: Vietnam’s beer production edges higher in May, slightly down year-to-date

Vietnam produced an estimated 390.5 million litres of beer in May 2025, up from 357.1 million litres in April, according to Vietnam’s National Statistics Office.

Key details:

  • April 2025 output: 357.1 million litres
  • May 2025 estimate: 390.5 million litres
  • Cumulative 5-month output: 1,718.7 million litres
  • May year-on-year change: +2.7 percent
  • 5-month year-on-year change: –0.3 percent

While monthly production increased in May, cumulative output for the first five months slightly lags last year. This suggests that domestic beer demand remains stable but faces headwinds from changing consumption trends and tighter alcohol tax policies.
