Vietnam produced an estimated 14.5 million mobile phones in July 2025, down from 15.3 million units in June, according to Vietnam’s National Office of Statistics.
Cumulative output in the first seven months of 2025 stood at 106.6 million units, nearly unchanged compared with the same period last year, slipping 0.4 percent year-on-year.
July alone posted a sharp 11.2 percent decline from the same month in 2024.
Vietnam has become a major hub for mobile phone production, solidifying its position as one of the world’s largest exporters of smartphones and components.
This rise is a result of strategic investments by multinational corporations, a growing skilled workforce, and government policies that encourage foreign direct investment (FDI).
The mobile phone manufacturing industry in Vietnam is dominated by a few key players.
Samsung is the most prominent, producing a substantial portion of its global smartphone output in its factories located in the northern provinces.
Other major foreign companies, including Apple’s key suppliers like Foxconn and Luxshare, have also expanded their manufacturing operations in the country.
