Dairy: TH Group to invest US$234 million in southern Vietnam factory expansion

Vietnamese dairy giant TH true MILK plans to build a US$234 million (VND6.07 trillion) factory in Binh Duong province to produce milk, yoghurt, ice cream, and non-alcoholic beverages, with phased development through 2037, English language news site, The Investor is reporting.

Key points include:

  • The factory will span 10 hectares in Song Than 3 Industrial Park.
  • Full capacity projected at 852,351 tons per year across four phases.
  • Employment for approximately 850 workers is expected.
  • TH first launched in Nghe An with a US$1.2 billion dairy farming and processing project.

This investment speaks to the growing opportunities in Vietnam’s expanding dairy industry. Whereas this is a significant boost for local production, demand still far outstrips supply with around half of the dairy consumed in Vietnam imported. This presents broad opportunities for foreign dairy producers.
