Coffee prices down on increased supply at start of harvest

Domestic green coffee is down 15 percent compared to its September peak, VN Express is reporting. According to sources quoted in the article this is due to:

  • Farmers holding onto their beans while they wait for prices to rise;
  • It’s the start of the harvest season which means more supply; and
  • Buying demand on the world market has slowed over interest rate concerns.
