Animal fodder: Vietnam’s August imports up 11.4 percent, led by Argentina & the US

Vietnam imported US$385.80 million of animal fodders and materials in August, rising 11.4 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$3.06 billion.

Argentina was the largest supplier, shipping US$134.12 million in August and accounting for 38.75 percent of YTD imports.

The US followed with US$68.51 million, representing 16.86 percent YTD, while Brazil ranked third with US$38.88 million.

China, India, and Indonesia also contributed notable volumes, though mostly flat or declining.

The import profile highlights Vietnam’s dependence on South American producers for feed inputs, with diversification across Asia playing a secondary role.
